always glad to help. hope it works for you too
Hey. Im 28. Stumbled across your site off google. Here’s my 2 cents.
Im 6′ 235 and wanted to burn fat. I’ve done all of the above… I’ve researched all the above. My weigh in is that HIIT at 30 Seconds 100% effort, 30 seconds rest or light effort seems to burn the most fat. Anytime you exceed one minute of intense effort, you burn muscle and fat. Keeping it to a 30 second Intensity keeps it more manageable for most people, and also burns more almost pure fat. I did not want to lose muscle mass, so this worked perfect for me. Also, it’s MUCH easier to put out 30 seconds of Sprint, then 3 minutes of Sprint. This keeps your mind full of little victories, keeping you going. Mind you, doing this for a simple 16 minutes can wind even a person in decent shape. Make sure you have a 4 minute warm up and cool down, with 8 rounds of 30/30 to start. You can increase up to 60/30 (60 Seconds 100% Intensity) as this becomes easier for you. I found an Awesome App on Android that times everything for you and blows a Whistle when its time to start/stop rounds. Search HIIT Timer in your App Store.
Also, I had Back and Knee Problems, And Used a Spinning Bike to do this. You can literally use anything (Even Jumping Jacks!) for your “Sprint” or 100% Intensity Exercise.
